  • Beginners and Intermediate Millinery
    Make your own beautiful hat using traditional millinery techniques taught by one of Australia's leading milliners. These small classes are open to beginner and intermediate students, catering to different levels of experience. Students new to millinery will make a hat from start to finish, molding the millinery materials over the traditional wooden hat blocks using a variety of techniques.

  • Sculpted headpieceSculpted Headpieces and Silk Flower Making
    Some call it a "Hatinator", others an overgrown "Fascinator". We call it a headpiece! Over this 2-day weekend course, learn how to sculpt with contemporary straw using traditional and new millinery techniques to make your own outstanding headpiece! Some of these techniques can also be applied to hat trimming. On Sunday morning you will make a beautiful silk rose using traditional French flower making tools. You can use your silk rose on your headpiece or as a trim for another hat. Both projects will give you skills to take home to apply to more creations.

  • Make a Small Hat Weekend
    Small hats are in! Make a fedora, pillbox, cloche, beret or something for winter to keep you warm. If you are a beginner you will learn some of the basics of traditional millinery, while the more experienced student can try out more advanced techniques. It's a great weekend of learning and creative fun.

  • Silk Flower Making
    Learn how to make beautiful silk flowers! In this workshop Georgina Conheady will show you how to work with silks and traditional French flower making techniques and tools to create exquisite flowers.

  • Hat by Louise MacdonaldEaster Millinery Intensive
    In this five-day millinery intensive you will be learning a mix of new and traditional millinery techniques, while making 2 hats to your own design. It will be a fun, social and inspiring week. One of the hats will be made from either felt or straw. For the second hat you will learn how to make a hat from the decorative cobweb sinamay.

  • Costume Millinery
    Milliner Louise Macdonald trained as a costume milliner in London. Following her studies she worked there with one of Europe's leading costume houses, making hats for many film television and theatre productions. This 2-day workshop is designed for people interested in costume for amateur dramatics, dance or wearable art. You'll learn some low cost millinery construction techniques for producing some out there headwear! There will also be guidance on how adapt, shape and resize existing headwear to create something new.

  • Race Wear Millinery
    Make a fun hat for the races with milliner Georgina Conheady. You will be using parisisal straw, employing a mixture of traditional and non traditional millinery techniques to make a hat of your own individual design for the races.
